Spessartine Garnet belongs to the pyralspite series of Garnets. Rich in manganese, to which it owes its colour, these crystals can be found in hues ranging from reds through to vivid oranges (often referred to as mandarin garnet).

Belonging to the cubic crystal system, these stones are found in dodecahedral crystals and their colour doesn't vary with direction, allowing stone cutters more freedom to fashion a range of shapes and proportions.

Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural.
