Shattuckite is a copper silicate hydroxide mineral and crystallises in the orthorhombic crystal system. Crystals are rare and is often found in botryoidal masses. Found in a range of colours from light to deep blue and shades of green and is often found in association with other copper silicates such as Ajoite, Turquoise, Chrysocolla and Malachite.

Its colour is due to copper.
