Canyon Diablo is an incredibly ancient body of an asteroid that began its life along with our planet earth and the galaxy it resides in. The ancient wisdom and high frequency of this grounding and protective stone is perfect for those seeking a profoundly deep energetic shift in the comforting arms of universal energies. 

The Canyon Diablo meteorite refers to the many fragments of the asteroid that created Meteor Crater (also called Barringer Crater) in Arizona, United States. This meteorite is named after nearby Canyon Diablo, which is west of the crater.

The enormous crater measures 1,200m in diameter and 170m deep (plus 200+m of rubble filling this space) with meteorites found around the crater rim which rises 45m above the surrounding baron plains. One of the interesting features of the crater is its squared-off outline, believed to be caused by existing regional jointing (cracks) in the strata at the impact site.

The asteroid fell approximately 50,000 years ago and discovered in 1891, although artifacts have been found that date back to prehistoric times. 

Iron meteorites contain at least 90% iron, approx 7% nickel and a host of other elements including phosphorous, cobalt, sulphur and over 20 other trace elements.

Their high density and internal crystalline pattern names the Widmanstätten pattern are what identifies them from other terrestrial iron-ore mineral materials. 
 

Although meteorites have survived  millions of years hurtling through space before colliding with earth in a cataclysmic event, they're still in need of some TLC.

Ethical mining/sourcing refers to the conditions in which a crystal is unearthed and the people and/or businesses that do it. Whilst a mineral may be sourced ethically from the earth, many stones are sent to factories in other countries for cutting and polishing into spheres and generators. 

The label of ethics also applies to the selling and consumer purchasing. 

Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural. This is incredibly important to us (and our in-house gemmologist) so each piece is tested and certified and accompanied by and authenticity card.
