Aquamarine - 01
I honour my inner clarity and grounded courage, moving forward with calm strength and steady purpose.
This unusual green hued aquamarine from Broken Hill blends heart-centred grounding with the clarity of beryl’s hexagonal structure—inviting a steady, focused transformation.
Unearthed in: Thakaringa, Broken Hill, Australia
Stone size: 80 x 80mm approx
HEALING
This rare, earthy-toned aquamarine carries a deeper, more grounded energy than the classic pale-blue beryl. Where traditional aquamarine is linked to emotional flow and clarity, this yellow-green expression feels anchored, protective, stabilising—ideal for moments when you need calm courage rather than softness alone. Its muted, opaque presence creates a steadying effect, supporting emotional resilience, practical decision-making, and the ability to stay centred when life demands consistent strength. Hold it during stressful periods—family pressures, long training phases, or times when you’re supporting others while still tending to your own healing—and feel its quiet, unwavering steadiness.
Because this crystal formed within the ancient geological complexity of Broken Hill, it holds a signature of endurance: minerals here grew under intense heat, high pressure, and long spans of time. This mirrors your own story of moving through challenge and coming out stronger, clearer, and more aligned with your deeper truth. In ritual or meditation, use this aquamarine to clear mental noise, soften overwhelm, and strengthen your sense of inner direction. It is a stone for staying the course—not through force, but through calm, grounded certainty.
SCIENCE
Aquamarine is the blue-to-green variety of the mineral beryl, a beryllium aluminium silicate known for its hexagonal prismatic crystal structure. The yellow-green colouring in this Broken Hill specimen indicates a combination of natural iron states within the crystal lattice—typically increased Fe²⁺ and subtle Fe³⁺ interactions—shifting its tone away from ocean-blue into earthy, olive-green hues. The opaque quality and tabular habit suggest growth under metamorphic conditions where fluid chemistry, pressure, and limited space influenced crystal thickness and translucency. Aquamarine from this region is uncommon, making pieces like this highly distinctive.
Broken Hill’s geology is among the oldest and most mineralogically diverse in Australia. The beryl found here forms within high-grade metamorphic rocks and pegmatitic veins that cut through the ancient host formations. Its tabular, flattened growth reflects directional pressure during metamorphism and constraints within the surrounding rock matrix. Although aquamarine is typically transparent or translucent, this opaque form still retains the classic features of beryl: strong crystallographic edges, hexagonal symmetry, and structural stability. These characteristics highlight its robust formation conditions and the mineralogical story carried within each face of the crystal.

OUR ETHICS
Yes, our crystals are ethically sourced & sold.
Read more:
Ethical mining/sourcing refers to the conditions in which a crystal is unearthed and the people and/or businesses that do it. Whilst a mineral may be sourced ethically from the earth, many stones are sent to factories in other countries for cutting and polishing into spheres and generators.
The label of ethics also applies to the selling and consumer purchasing.
Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural. This is incredibly important to us (and our in-house gemmologist) so each piece is tested and certified and accompanied by and authenticity card.
We pride ourselves on our crystal ethics, from earth to home.
