SCIENCE
Aventurine is a variety of quartz with inclusions of fuchsite mica. Fuchsite is a green variety of mica owing its colour to chromium. The tine flakes of mica reflect light from beneath the stones surface creating a sheen called "aventurescence".
Bloodstone, Heliotrope, is a variety of plasma (cryptocrystalline quartz), with microscopic crystal grains compacted together, coloured by chlorite with spots of Red jasper. These pieces are predominantly a deep teal green with minimal jasper.
CRYSTAL CARE
Although crystals have survived hundreds of thousands to millions of years (wow) in our earth they are still delicate and must be treated with TLC.
Lapis has a relatively low hardness so be careful not to keep it inside a bag with other harder/sharp crystals. Lapis contains pyrite and is also porous, so please keep dry and away from moisture as it may darken and lose its shine.
