Phantom-included quartz from Colombia with Cookeite is a unique formation that reveals the dynamic process of crystal growth and mineral inclusion. Cookeite, a lithium-rich chlorite group mineral (LiAl₂(OH)₄[AlSi₃O₁₀]), forms in hydrothermal environments where shifts in temperature and mineral saturation create interruptions in quartz crystallisation. During these pauses, Cookeite precipitates onto the quartz surface, and as growth resumes, it becomes encased within the crystal, forming ghost-like "phantoms." These inclusions, often pale green, pink, or yellowish, enhance the optical properties of the quartz by diffusing light and creating an ethereal glow. The lithium content in Cookeite is also notable, as lithium-bearing minerals are often linked to calming and stabilising energetic effects. Colombian deposits of phantom quartz with Cookeite capture a visual record of geological change, preserving layers of mineral history within the crystal structure.

Ethical mining/sourcing refers to the conditions in which a crystal is unearthed and the people and/or businesses that do it. Whilst a mineral may be sourced ethically from the earth, many stones are sent to factories in other countries for cutting and polishing into spheres and generators. 

The label of ethics also applies to the selling and consumer purchasing. 

Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural. This is incredibly important to us (and our in-house gemmologist) so each piece is tested and certified and accompanied by and authenticity card.
