HEALING
Known as the master healer, harmonising all the chakras and amplifying the energies of other crystals, this powerful mineral stores, releases and regulates energy, facilitating the release of negative energy and habitual negativity. Quartz can cleanse your sacred space or body, ‘clearing the air’ to renew and refresh the vibrations. An essential crystal for everyone, Quartz is the ultimate stone for manifesting positive changes in your life by helping you create clear thoughts and intentions and empowering you to follow through.
SCIENCE
Colour: Colourless although may be included or coated with coloured inclusions, not to be confused with the other coloured varieties of quartz.
Geological occurrences: Himalayas
Crystallography: This mineral is known for its clarity and well-formed crystals. Found typically as prismatic crystals, singly or doubly terminated, often as single or twinned crystals, clusters and fine druses in cavities and geodes. Quartz belongs to the trigonal crystal system and is typically terminated with 2 sets of three rhombohedra, major and minor (6 faces total).
Untwinned quartz has the ability to become electrically charged when heat and/or pressure is applied.
Observations: Crystals show striations perpendicular to the prism length (crystal axis). Striations are indented grooves caused by alteration between prism and rhombohedral forms during growth. Typical inclusions are negative crystals (hollow cavities showing crystal forms), gas and/or liquid filled cavities, healed fractures (veils or feathered) occasionally with yellow iron staining and a wide range of other crystals/minerals. These include rutile, tourmaline, chlorite, pyrite, hematite, goethite, epidote, actinolite and dumortierite.

CRYSTAL CARE
MOH's hardness - 7
Quartz is fairly durable and can be cleaned with water and cleansed in anyway. Avoid using a sound bowl as vibrations may affect the clarity.

OUR ETHICS
Yes, our crystals are ethically sourced & sold.
Read more:
Ethical mining/sourcing refers to the conditions in which a crystal is unearthed and the people and/or businesses that do it. Whilst a mineral may be sourced ethically from the earth, many stones are sent to factories in other countries for cutting and polishing into spheres and generators.
The label of ethics also applies to the selling and consumer purchasing.
Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural. This is incredibly important to us (and our in-house gemmologist) so each piece is tested and certified and accompanied by and authenticity card.
We pride ourselves on our crystal ethics, from earth to home.
