HEALING
Ametrine is often associated with balance, clarity, and integration. Carrying the visual union of amethyst and citrine, it is seen as a stone that brings together intuition and action, calm and momentum, reflection and confidence. It is often used to help clear mental fog, support decision-making, and encourage a more centred, empowered state. Ametrine is a beautiful companion for those moving through change, seeking energetic balance, or wanting to feel both spiritually connected and practically focused.

SCIENCE
Ametrine is a natural, transparent bicoloured variety of quartz that shows both the purple of amethyst and the golden-yellow tones of citrine in a single crystal. It is essentially quartz with distinct colour zoning, and the best-known commercial source is the Anahí mine in Bolivia. Quartz has the chemical formula SiO₂ and crystallises in the trigonal system. Like other quartz varieties, ametrine has a Mohs hardness of 7, no cleavage, and a conchoidal fracture, making it a relatively durable gemstone for jewellery. Its striking appearance comes from the natural coexistence of amethyst and citrine colour zones within one crystal, which gives the stone its distinctive dual-toned character.

CRYSTAL CARE
Although crystals have survived hundreds of thousands to millions of years (wow) in our earth they are still delicate and must be treated with TLC.
Amethyst fades in direct sunlight, so keep off windowsills or any area that has sun shining too brightly.
MOH's Hardness 7
Whilst amethyst isn't a 'soft' stone it is still prone to scratching and surface dulling over time if not handled with care. Cluster formations are more delicate than single crystals.

OUR ETHICS
Yes, our crystals are ethically sourced & sold.
Read more:
Ethical mining/sourcing refers to the conditions in which a crystal is unearthed and the people and/or businesses that do it. Whilst a mineral may be sourced ethically from the earth, many stones are sent to factories in other countries for cutting and polishing into spheres and generators.
The label of ethics also applies to the selling and consumer purchasing.
Crystals must be correctly identified, certified as natural with any treatments disclosed. Too often crystals are lab grown or treated in a lab and sold as natural. This is incredibly important to us (and our in-house gemmologist) so each piece is tested and certified and accompanied by and authenticity card.
We pride ourselves on our crystal ethics, from earth to home.
